Storyline

Before the 1979 revolution, Nahid Persson Sarvestani, a student and leftist activist at the time, strived for the fall of Reza Pahlavi’s dictatorship in the name of a free and democratic Iran. Fearing the violence of the new regime, set on an even more brutal reckoning with the (secular) opposition, she took refuge in Sweden, where she later became a renowned documentary filmmaker. Three decades after leaving her homeland, the images of protestors in the streets of Teheran upon presidential elections brought back the memories of her youthful years and with them the feelings of guilt, intimate loss and the desire to find out what had happened to her former colleagues.
