Storyline
Meet John G Morris, 95, a legend of photojournalism, whose unerring eye for the best shot has moved and changed the world. Morris, former Picture Editor of Life Magazine & New York Times was instrumental in the early years of Magnum with his friends and peers Robert Capa & Henri Cartier Bresson. This film covers serious subjects; the coverage of conflict through photojournalism, a sensitive view of humanity and a search for peace in the world.
Morris’s unerring eye for the best shot has captured the imagination of the world and influenced our opinions. His long life and professional career in photojournalism has spanned 70 years and coincides with the evolution of the craft itself. He has lived through the many wars of the 20th century, narrowly avoiding death on more than one occasion, and has worked with some of the world’s most courageous photo-journalists. Now 96 years old, he has recently found love again and is a sharp and witty raconteur with an extremely well-informed view of the world.
